Available to Promise and Capable to Promise enabling customer enquiries to be given proposed dates, accounting for both Inventory and Capacity constraints through the whole manufacturing / procurement process.

Cost of customer promises reduced. The system considers capacity and availability, providing the internal sales team with a quick and feasible promise date for the customer.

All users working in the planning and execution process have a common point of holding text, allowing the team to share information, e.g. information supporting a specific Works Order.

Ability to easily update Work in Progress with dates, quantities and resource selection to simulate results in advance of updating in ERP.
More efficient simulation of short-term production changes in relation to inventory and capacity enhancing visibility and decision making.

Where Master data is not available from the ERP or other systems the MDM (Master Data Management) this functionality allows the user to create and maintain Master data directly in sofco Supply Planning. Areas covered are:
  • Products, Attributes and Hierarchies
  • Resources, Attributes and Hierarchies
  • Locations, Attributes and Hierarchies
  • Bills of Materials
  • Routings
  • Planning Policies
  • Planners

Structured data management within the sofco application where external data sourcing is either not available or incorrect.

Low cost Master Data Management to support all supply planning activities without the expense and complexity of implementing master data modules in ERP systems.

JIT Algorithm
The JIT (Just in Time) Algorithm is simple and fast to deploy and has the following capabilities:
  • Demand driven Multi level Finite Capacity Plan from Raw Materials to Finished Goods
  • Backward Strategy on Production Constraints with the objective of making everything as late as possible, to Supply all Demand whilst maintaining Safety Stocks
  • Constraints – Lot Sizing, Fixed/Dynamic Safety Stock, Calendars, Lead Times

The JIT Algorithm is the entry level planning algorithm, where planners can easily understand and analyse results.

Users can quickly generate a robust production, procurement or distribution plan which balances the customer demand against business constraints, reducing costs in terms of shipment and overtime.

Users have visibility of materials and capacity, allowing the flexing of capacity, production, inventory and material to meet customer demands. Whilst all the time planning manufacturing making the most efficient use of resources and materials.

FPA Algorithm
The FPA (Finite Planning Algorithm) has the following capabilities:
  • Demand driven Multi level Finite Capacity Plan from Raw Materials to Finished Goods
  • Integrated Pegging
  • Backward & Forward Strategies and Mixed Strategies
  • Constraints same as MRP plus Production and Supplier Capacities, Stock Availability and Scheduled Receipts from Production & Purchase

Allows the user to quickly generate a robust production, procurement and/or distribution plan which balances the customer demand against business constraints.

Feasible and prioritised Plan is produced providing the most efficient use of resources, and keeping costs to a minimum, while meeting Customer Services Levels.

Results provide key information for decision support for the planners.

FCA Algorithm
The FCA (Forecast Consumption Algorithm) has the following capabilities:
  • Consumes real Customer Orders against the Forecast providing “Net” Demand to plan against
  • Provides rules to control Netting Horizons
  • Optional “Flattening” of Net Demand

Automatic conversion of the gross forecast into a net production requirement based on complex rules defining how the firm customer order demand shall consume it.

Ensures Supply is aligned with Demand, even where there are multiple sources and they are constantly changing in terms of status e.g. Forecast v Firm, What, How Many and When.

Manages the mix of real orders to ship, and forecast to plan, into a single stream of Demand, lining up the Supply Chain accordingly.
